Mom and Dad

October 2-5
A few hours after Tammy left back for Iowa, my parents arrived!  That evening we drove to Grand Rapids to walk in the Light the Night walk to raise awareness and money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  My heart goes out to all the families that have to deal with the diagnosis of cancer.  The Art Prize was also going on downtown in Grand Rapids so we got in on a little of that as well.  It was pretty cold, but we were prepared and bundled up!

Mom put her free t-shirt over her puffy vest...it looked hilarious!

The 2 mile walk by the river was beautiful.

On Sunday afternoon, we celebrated Dorian's 4th birthday together.
Dorian's request was that his cake be chocolate!

Dorian wanted to lick the card shut first, so he could open it.  :)

Playing with his new little Hex Bug.

On Monday we went to the John Ball Zoo.

Thanks for coming mom and dad!  It's always fun to have you here and the boys were thrilled to spend time with you.

Tammy

October 1 & 2
Tammy was visiting over her 30th birthday!  We went apple picking at Cranes, ate pizza and went out for ice cream at Kilwins (mmm...toasted coconut ice cream!).  And on Saturday, we had a breakfast birthday party, went to the firetruck parade and the Farmer's Market, and then bought tulips from Veldeers that she could take home with her.

10...20...30 fingers!

We had a lot of fun taking pictures since we were both taking photography classes.  :)

dorian and levi

Some September memories of relaxing at home.

It was a sunny, Sunday afternoon.  The football game was on, Nathan was reading to the boys, and I was taking pictures.  We were all happy.  :)

I just love this picture!

Dorian and Levi were waiting patiently for chocolate chip cookies!

Dorian fell asleep holding his blankie tag on the steps waiting for quiet time to be over.  :)
