January 2019

Wrapping up Christmas
When we returned home from Hawaii on the 10th, we had a large stack of mail to open and a couple of Christmas gifts!

I found the perfect candle to burn while getting unpacked from our trip and getting the Christmas decorations put away.
Keeping Warm
I found jackets for Levi and Mason and they look super cute in them!

Hat Day
Levi likes to go all in on special days at school.  He remembered seeing this hat at Walmart and wanted it for Hat Day at school!  Crazy kid!  Love his enthusiasm and bravery.
Ice Fishing
I'm proud of Dorian for working this past summer and saving his money to purchase an ice shack.  The time had finally come to use it!  Unfortunately it was FREEZING cold that weekend, but fortunately the heater in the ice shack worked well!
Nathan took Dorian to the cabin on Friday night.  Mason and I picked up Grandpa in Sheldon and came on Saturday to check it out!

Everybody had their first experience ice fishing, nobody got frostbite or fell in the water and all of the ice fishing equipment worked well so, even though there were no fish caught, it was a successful trip!
Medieval Feast
Dorian was dressed as an archer and ready for his Medieval Feast celebration at school!
Other January News
I didn't believe it was true at first, but on January 30 it was colder in Sioux Center than in Antarctica!!!  It was -21 here with wind chills at -45!  BRRRR.  School was cancelled so the boys ended up playing a lot of Wii.  I was thankful for a warm house and the sunshine outside.
