It seems fitting that on July 1 Mason fell asleep for a nap in our bed. (Sleeping children just look so adorable so I had to take a picture!) It tells of the busy schedules and summer fun playtime that just wore him out that afternoon. And now as I think about school starting soon, I'm reminded again of just how busy the last couple of months have been and it makes me excited to record some of our memories.
We always enjoy going to the Village Fireworks Celebration in Sheldon!
While there, our boys didn't have any trouble using the ride/activity tickets that Grandpa and Grandma bought for them. Dorian had fun racing Claire to the top of the climbing wall.
Bring on the water balloon wars!
Mason loved the train ride, the little Ferris Wheel and the Inflatables!
It was precious to walk with Mason on his pony ride!
Firetruck rides!
Laser gun wars were new this year.
To Mason the only thing better than a horse wagon ride is riding in the middle of Grandpa and Grandma!
Dorian and Levi both loved the goats!
Levi had fun at the dunk tank.
He played Plinko twice and won an inflatable hockey stick!
The kids all wanted a front row seat on our wagon ride!
Then it was time for fireworks! Mason wasn't thrilled with the noise and just wanted to sleep. But the fireworks display was enjoyed by the rest of us and we all had a fun night.
July 2
On Saturday we spent some time at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Mason and Levi both preferred the driver seat on the Gator!
Too bad it's not bigger or else I would have wanted to drive it more!
Claire and Dorian had a good game of Jenga going on. Emma and Grandpa made it together!
We enjoyed roasted marshmallows for dessert before heading home for the night.
July 4
Happy 4th of July! On Monday, we took the boys to Sioux City and ate at Red Robin for lunch.
Both the burgers and the balloons were a big hit.
Then we played a round of miniature golf and ate at the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor on our way home.
I was a little nervous letting the boys light sparklers, but it was a perfect way to end our weekend celebrations.

Mason loves his puppy!
Crazy Days
A lot of people come out to get a good deal at the Sioux Center Crazy Days sales...including us this year! The boys enjoyed train rides in the mall and I was excited to get shoes for me, Dorian and Levi at a good price.
Their shoes are nearly as big as mine! Yikes.
Friends
Dorian had a fun afternoon swimming at the pool with Anderson since he was here visiting friends and family!
Omaha trip
Nathan went to Kansas to work on a wheatgrass research project and then we met him in Omaha for a day and a half before he went to Des Moines for a different work trip.
We arrived on Friday afternoon and let the boys swim in the hotel pool before we went to eat at The Cheesecake Factory. It's funny because each time we take the boys to a restaurant they say it's their new favorite place to eat! :)
Saturday we went to the Omaha Zoo for the day! It also happened to be our 12th anniversary!
Mason wasn't so sure of all of the smells. :)
No stroller for Mason this time!
The monkeys were quite loud. :)
No stroller worked out well to this point... Nathan didn't mind a break in the shade while I took Dorian and Levi through the Rain Forest Building.
The boys were all smiles until Dorian got hit in the arm by a bat. :( He was so frightened by it that hopefully it won't scar him for life...
The number of pictures I took was an indication that we truly enjoyed this warm summer day together. A great way to spend our anniversary.
