August

We fully enjoyed our last few weeks of warm, lazy, summer days!  Many hours were spent at the pool, the parks, and in the backyard with neighbor friends.

Date night with Levi to Sioux City!

Levi did a Try-athalon!  Dorian was going to also but at the last minute we discovered his bike was broke (again!).  Levi did a great job with swimming, biking and running!  Nice work Levi!

 Proud big brother!
Date night with Dorian to Sioux City!

All 3 boys took a week of swimming lessons with Ms. Molly.  Mason's first swimming lessons!
Happy Birthday to Nathan!!!  37 years it is.  And yes, those are handprints in the brownies from a little 3 old who couldn't wait for a bite.

The boys also spent countless hours in August building forts in the basement!

 Our first pumpkin is ready!
 Back to School night!
Our 2nd grader and his teacher!
Our 4th grader and his teacher!
After this picture, we left to take Dorian to Urgent Care and he was diagnosed with an ear infection.  He missed his 2nd day of school to go back to the doctor for more medicine because he was in so much pain.  Poor kid.  Not a great way to start the school year.
And they are off! Day 1 of 4th and 2nd grades.  Proud of these boys!
I was babysitting my nieces and while Aniah was reading to Adria and Mason they both fell asleep on the floor!  I guess after a busy summer and having your siblings start school again, it's pretty tiring.  :)

Day trip to Yankton!
We'd been wanting to try out our bike rack all summer and on August 27 we made it happen!  Another new adventure as a family.

It turned out to be a perfect day to go for a swim too!

 Buried in the sand.

We picked up pizza to eat for supper and ended our day trying to catch fish.

On August 31 we got to watch Jason Rosema's soccer game.  Northwestern vs. Dordt.  And Kate came for it and stayed overnight at our house.
We also went to Wild Water West a couple of times before school started.  The first time we went with friends and we got rained out, so they gave us coupons to go back.  The second time we went as a family.  Mason calls it Wild Water Water Water Water Water West every time he refers to it.  It's adorable!

We all LOVE summer!  But it's nice to have the boys at school and have a little more of a routine as well.
