Levi did the Try-athalon this year again and did great! It was fun to cheer him on!
Swimming Lessons
Mason has been loving swimming lately so I asked his teacher if she would give him another week of lessons before she went back to college. He is swimming on his own!
He was brave enough to jump off the diving board on the last day!
He loves to cross over on the lily pads!
And he got to go down the big water slide all by himself!
Weekend at the cabin
I left on Friday afternoon with Levi and Mason and we stopped at Dairy Dandy in Sheldon for ice cream on the way. I was reminiscing of the times I used to go there as a kid! :)
The boys love to make forts at home and at the cabin!
Dad and Mom took us out for a boat ride! We enjoyed a picnic supper on the boat.
The sunset was spectacular!
It's fun to be silly with Levi!
On Saturday Mason helped Grandpa get his boat hooked up and then we took it over to Big Spirit Lake for the day! Nathan and Dorian joined us!
The boys found some frogs to catch.
Mason loves playing in the shallow water.
Molly needed to dry off and recover from being in the lake! The boys think it's very fun to watch her swim.
Time for tubing!
Dorian loves to fish! He's learning a lot about tying knots and different kinds of fishing lures.
Mason has mastered kayaking!
Combining what they love: paddle boarding for Levi and fishing for Dorian!
My parents left one of their tubes in our shed to try out behind our little boat. Levi convinced Mason to pull him behind the kayak!
Park Playdates
We met Aunt Heidi, Aniah, Eden and Adria at the Fireslide park one afternoon and they played for hours on end! The next week we decided to take them to the park in Orange City to play for the afternoon.
Happy Birthday
We celebrated Nathan's birthday a little early with him since he spent his actual birthday working at the cabin. Mason made a card for him that he carefully wrapped in 2 envelopes, a Ziploc bag, a gift bag and wrapping paper! Levi spent many nights at bedtime working on a coloring page for him. What sweet gifts!
Nathan enjoyed a quiet work day and even got to see a new bird on the deck! We concluded that it's a Kingfisher.
Band lessons
Dorian had 3 lessons at school during the month of August to begin learning how to play the bells! Let the practice begin. :)
Paper
Based on the amount of paper that the boys have used, it's safe to say that they are having fun and making a mess in our house! :) It seems we were constantly running to Walmart for more tape, glue and paper! They have been looking up YouTube videos and making paper airplanes and paper guns of many shapes and sizes. I'm thankful they are being creative and having fun and I'm thankful when it's cleaned up as well. :)
Last weekend before school startsWe tried tubing behind our boat and it works! Kerry, Ashley, Emma and Claire joined us for the day.
It never gets old to see the pelicans!
Levi was thankful Claire was willing to pull him behind her kayak. :)
Our faithful grill master!
Spudnutz never gets old!
Back to School
We had fun finding their classrooms at the Back to School Night!
Oh boy. Dorian's first year with a locker!
First day of 5th Grade for Dorian and 3rd Grade for Levi!
Levi's class.
Since preschool doesn't start until September, Mason enjoyed a playdate with some of his preschool co-op friends from last year while his brothers were at school.
Mason did a great job at his Back To School night! His teacher is Ms. Becca and the helpers are Ms. Ang and Ms. Sherry.
He found where he needs to hang his backpack and did a scavenger hunt around the room!
Ms. Becca showed him how to check in! I think he's going to have a fun year!
I'm praying that all 3 boys have a blessed school year.
