Day 1
Day 2
After a long drive, we arrived around 5:00 in the morning. It was freezing! We all dug into our suitcases to get warmer clothes.
We flew on 3 different small sea planes. They were very loud which is why we needed ear muffs. From the air it looked like it was half land and half water.
It was not bumpy at all when we landed.
We were itching to get to our cabin! When we entered there was a little kitchen and a small living room with a couple of beds in it, as well as a fireplace. Down the hall there were several bedrooms. Dorian slept in a room with Brady. Levi slept in a room with Jacob. There was a porta potty outside. The outside shower was freezing...even more cold than the lake!
There were 4 fishing boats. After arranging our fishing gear, we were excited to start fishing!
We caught way more fish than this, but these were the keepers that we ate for lunch the first day. The dads cooked and filleted the fish while the kids explored the island or fished off the shore. Levi liked to help prepare the food.
This was Dorian's first fish on the trip...a walleye!
Day 3
The camp. Cliff and Roma's. A fun day of reeling in many fish!
Day 4
Dorian hooked a huge Northern that was putting up a good fight! It took a long time to get it in the boat! It turned out to be his biggest fish of the trip, 37 inches long! It was a keeper, soon to be mounted for his room!
Nice Walleye, Levi!
Dorian enjoyed driving once in a while.
Another nice Walleye, Levi!
The keepers from our morning.Levi caught a big Northern off Dinner Hole Island where we stopped for lunch a few times.
The Northern Levi caught by Bear Paw Island.
Nice Walleye, Dorian!
Dad's big Northern Pike!
In the evening, Dorian took a quick picture with his 37" Northern before they packaged it up so it could be mounted.
Day 5
Dinner Hole Island
We saw a caribou swimming back to shore with it's baby!
During our last evening fishing, we caught a lot more fish. Levi caught his biggest Walleye, 21 inches long! He was very excited and saved it to be mounted for his room.
Day 6
The dog, Dozier, was very nice and liked to play with us and follow us everywhere!
We flew back to our vehicles in the morning.
We saw a few Moose and 2 bears on our drive!
It was an amazing trip with good friends. We couldn't wait to tell Mom and Mason about all the fish that we caught!
