While Levi was at camp, Dorian, Mason and I spent one afternoon miniature golfing in Sioux City and then went out for ice cream!
August 6-10
It was so fun to spend 4 days with all the Bolkema relatives at Lake Okoboji! The boys played for hours at the Cutty's pool having fun with their cousins!
Kerry, Ashley, Emma and Claire organized a family miniature golf tournament! It would have been Rodney's birthday. We still miss him.
Everybody kept track of their score and we were divided into 3 groups based on our ages. Jeremy and Dorian needed to play a tiebreaker round!
Levi, Dorian and I each won trophies for getting first place! And the kids all earned a participation medal made out of candy! How sweet of the Lamfers family to organize this all! It was super fun.
Glowsticks and campfires make for some good times at the campground!
All the kids participated in the craft at the Cutty's lodge making wind chimes!
We spent one afternoon at Uncle Darryl and Aunt Twyla's house. We swam, played on the Mauii Mat, and rode the jet skis! We also took the kids tubing behind Dad and Mom's boat and Darryl's boat!
One day we hosted everyone at our cabin! We started out by taking a few family pictures.
Then we took out the lounge chairs, kayaks, paddle board, floaties, and had fun enjoying the lake life!
Another day we ate a picnic lunch by Arnold's Park, walked through the tipsy house and rode down the original wooden slides! We also enjoyed a round of go-cart racing!
The boys found time to catch some fish off of our dock and even enticed their cousins to join them!
On our last day together, we brought donuts from Spudnutz to Cutty's for breakfast for everyone. Brian and Katherine had to leave, but the rest of us spent the day boating on Big Spirit Lake. Kerry and I skied! It was a beautiful day to anchor the boat and jump in to swim!
Cabin
We stayed longer at our cabin and spent some quality time with our 3 boys! The water mat has been a fun addition and has already provided many hours of entertainment!
I love it when the boys find things like puzzles and books to quietly entertain themselves!
We took our boat out on Big Spirit Lake and I was the only one to catch fish!
Can you tell that Mason is whistling in this picture? Love it that he's been enjoying that so much lately.
Sunsets over the water are the best!
Completed puzzles are pretty awesome too.
The boys went out fishing and I volunteered to stay back with Molly and chill on the dock enjoying some quiet time!
Happy Birthday
Eating brownies and celebrating Dad will put a smile on your face!
Swimming Badge
We went swimming and Mason decided to see if he could earn his badge allowing him to be able to go down the slides all by himself. He had to swim across the deep pool with a lifeguard watching and he did it!!! So thankful he can swim! And excited that he can go down the slides all by himself!
Candy Machines
Dorian has been making some awesome, fully functional, candy machines out of LEGOs! Impressive!
Wedding
Congrats to my cousin Nathan and his new bride Jayce on their wedding day! Mason was too sleepy to enjoy the glowsticks and the dancing but we still had fun!
Jason
Jason Rosema is back for his 3rd year at Northwestern College. The boys enjoy having him over and this time it involved an arm wrestling match!
Homemade Pizza
Dad isn't the only one making homemade pizza at our house anymore. Nice work Dorian! It was delicious!
Back to School
Dorian: 6th grade
Levi: 4th grade
Mason: Kindergarten
It's the first year that they are all at the same school!
Mason's teacher is Mrs. Haan. Dorian's homeroom teacher is Mrs. DeWeerd and Levi's teacher is Mrs. Winter but I guess the older two are getting too old for a picture with their teacher at the Back To School night!
Happy First Day of School!
It was hard to say goodbye even though I knew Mason was ready for full days of Kindergarten. I stayed for the morning chapel after dropping off the boys.
After a busy summer, it was enjoyable to return home to a quiet house while the boys were at school. I made zucchini bread for them and had the oil changed on our van. I also had the In Clover girls over to put the finishing touches on the office after it had been painted and the new office furniture had finally arrived!
When the boys came home I was super excited to hear that they all had a good first day of school!
The boys had a lot of fun on the inflatables at the Back To School Bash at their school!
Praying for a blessed school year for each of them!
