Mexico

January 29-February 2
After many discussions about taking a friend trip, Janey and I decided to head to a warm location to break up the cold Iowa winter.  I know that I am extremely blessed to have a friend willing to brave an adventure like this with me! On our way to Cozumel, Mexico!

Woohoo!  We arrived safely.
We took a taxi to the resort and enjoyed seeing many cruise ships and beautiful beaches along the way.
Sunglasses, sunshine, palm trees and hammocks!  It felt like Mexico life.

We spent a few afternoons relaxing and reading at the beach.

Sunsets are always beautiful!

We took a boat out to a coral reef to go snorkeling! I think it was my first time wearing a wet suit.  We saw beautiful coral reefs and many fish.  My favorite by far was seeing a huge manta ray swimming right below us!  We thought it was somewhere between 8-10 feet across.

I thought it would be fun to bring home some shells for the boys!
I went on a night snorkeling trip without Janey since she got seasick on the first snorkeling excursion.  It was pretty to watch the sun set over the water.  It was an experience I've never had before.  It was dark and we were looking with flashlights in the water.  As it got even darker, I stuck near to our guide and jumped at every wave that crashed.  Even though it was somewhat frightening, I was glad for the experience.  I got to see a bio-luminescent jelly fish, squid and lots of sea turtles!

We both enjoyed the variety of animals at the resort!

We enjoyed shopping at the markets together and finding some gifts to take home to our families. We were called twins or sisters multiple times!

This was my favorite meal! Steak!
I'll treasure our experiences and the time we had to chat about our lives as moms and wives, etc!

My passport is stamped!  It was fun to have visited and explored a new country!
