March 2021

Unity

It was a milestone for me to purchase my first Unity shirt!  It's crazy to think Dorian will be in high school there next Fall!  Dorian and I went with Janey and her kids to one of the Unity girls state basketball games.

Concerts

I was excited to watch a short concert at SCCS (the first one there for over a year).  Levi was in choir, orchestra and band.  Dorian was in band.

Drawings

I'll take pictures from my kids any day!  Thanks to Mason for this sidewalk chalk picture!  And that also means that it's warming up outside!

SCCS

Dorian, Parker and Ethan worked on building a bridge for math and science.  Dorian really enjoyed the project and was so excited to tell me that they won first place for the strongest bridge!  Mr. Barrow and Mr. Tinklenberg were even able to stand on it without it breaking!

Dorian's 8th grade class!
I love it that Levi and Mason are in the same connection groups with their classes.  So sweet to see them reading with each other's friends.

Sioux Falls

I enjoyed taking Dorian and Levi to Sioux Falls one day while Nathan and Mason were gone.  We ate a takeout lunch at a park, went to Scheels and Costco, and enjoyed an hour at Air Madness.

Salmon

Mason loved spending one on one time with Nathan on their trip to pick up salmon for the aquaponics farm.  They stopped in Minneapolis at the Mall of America aquarium.

They went to a zoo in Duluth.

Another aquarium (in Duluth)

Masks were required!  Even the moose was wearing one.

Nice work transporting the salmon safely!

Snow

They made it back just before a snowstorm.  The next day was perfect snowman building weather.

Party time

We were really excited to have a party at our house for Mason's birthday (especially since we were in quarantine on his last birthday).

Thank you for all of the fun gifts!  Mason opened a game from Grandpa and Grandma that was filled with quarters to keep and look through for his coin collection.  A ball, puzzle, Legos, and a gift card to Walmart are perfect gifts for an 8 year old!
Mason wanted a smore cake!
Happy Birthday

We LOVE you dearly.  It was fun to watch you count down for the last month with a paper chain that you made!  Nathan made you a coffee cake for breakfast.

We hope you'll enjoy your new fishing pole this coming summer!  Dorian picked out a fishing lure and baseball card pages.  Levi picked out a Dolphin's football for you.
After school Levi and I took Mason and 3 of his friends, Sawyer, Jonas, and Liam, to play at the Dordt game room.

We ate dirt cups for a snack.
Sawyer gave a fun hover toy.
Liam and Jonas each gave him Minecraft Lego sets.
The boys went bowling and had a little time left to play air hockey, foosball and ping pong!

Projects
Dorian has been enjoying making homemade fishing lures!  He and Nathan figured out how to list them on ebay and Dorian is still waiting patiently for someone to purchase one.  :)
Dorian and Levi finished the Pinewood Derby cars that they started last year so they could race them in the Pinewood Derby.  Levi's race car got 6th place overall and Dorian's boat got 8th!  Way to go!  Mason made the sailboat.
All the boys did a pottery class for art at school and these were Levi's bowls!  Levi welded the die at Cadets and then painted it at home.
I helped Mason and his class with their pottery projects.  Love how Mason's dish turned out!
Palm Sunday

It was a joy to watch Mason waving palm branches at church and singing for Palm Sunday!

Trout
Harvesting trout for lunch.
