Congrats to Nathan on finishing his first year at Dordt College!
Happy Mother's Day to me. It was a huge gift to me to have the garden planted, the lawn mowed, the sandbox filled and the flowers planted. A beautiful backyard! I also had homemade cards and flowers from each of my boys. My life is richly blessed.
There has certainly been a lot of sand tracked into the house, but I really don't mind it since I know how much fun the boys have in the new sandbox. They've been very entertained there!
I had to get a picture of where Molly hangs out while we eat. :) Thankfully she doesn't whine or bark, but she knows where the crumbs fall!
Congratulations to Dorian on completing his preschool year at Learningship!!! He is so smart and he's getting so big! I was really impressed with how many songs that he knew and sang at his graduation. I'm so proud of him.
When we lived in MI we always did something downtown during Tulip Time. This year we went to the Tulip Festival in Orange City to watch the band that Ashley was the drum major for! It was fun to get to watch her! The boys enjoyed the parade. Starting new traditions.
Right out of our back window one afternoon there was a beautiful rainbow that stretched all the way from one end to the other. I couldn't capture it all on camera, but it was very beautiful!
Since Coffee Break, MOPS and preschool are all finished, there are more days with nothing on the calendar. It was on one of those days that I took the boys to Paullina to the State Park to play at the playground, eat a picnic lunch and walk around the lake. Well, we didn't get to walk around the lake because when we sat down to eat lunch I knew that Levi was coming down with some kind of illness. Levi had high fevers for a couple of days and then seemed fine again and then Dorian got it. It turns out they had Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease and Nathan got it as well. :( So we spent about 10 days in the house. When everyone was better again, I took the boys back to Paullina since I had promised that we could go back to walk around the lake. I had fun taking pictures of them there. :)
I really love it when the boys pick dandilions for me!!!
On Memorial Day, Nathan had to work so I took the boys to Sheldon to the Pancake breakfast and to the pool in the afternoon. We got to meet Adria Fayth, my new niece!!! She is so tiny and so precious!
Some other memories.
After a very long process (since January) and much labored debate, I turned down a part-time job so that I can continue to be a stay-at-home mom. I've concluded that I currently have the best position! :) I'm really looking forward to the warm summer weather and doing things with the boys! They really are at perfect ages to go to the pool, camping, etc.
We bought a used piano. I thought the boys would have fun playing a little bit, and it turns out that Nathan and I have also had fun playing it a little as well...even though it doesn't sound too great. :) Someday I'll have the boys take lessons.
