June is flying by!
Doesn't Adria look tiny next to Levi and Eden?
Levi has had fun opening some gifts that came in the mail for his birthday!
The boys have been asking for months if it is summer. They have asked so many times that even though it hasn't officially begun, it's summer at our house! I LOVE summer. We had fun filling up our little pool with water and I've been surprised at how much time they've spent in it. Dorian has been getting very brave in the water and had to show me how he could put his whole face in the water! He was so excited and so proud!
This is our second pool for the season since our first one
sprung a leak. We found this one at WalMart and it has a built in slide!
Hopefully this one lasts much longer!
Gettings Garden! We picked a lot of yummy strawberries and
then stayed to eat a mini strawberry pie and a strawberry shake. Yum.
This past Saturday we went to Risefest which is an outdoor
music festival which happened to be less than a mile from my parent's house! We
heard Mark Schultz, Matt Maher, and Remedy Drive. We left before it was over,
but Natalie Grant and Tenth Ave. North were also there! In Sheldon, Iowa! :)
Happy Father's Day!
We
went to my parent's house on Father's Day. Levi wanted to hold Adria and it was
so fun to watch him. He loved it and wondered if Adria could sleep over on his
bunk bed. :)
Some other stories from our house:
The boys just finished a week of private swimming lessons. We
were at the pool for an hour and the boys traded off between lessons and
swimming on their own, while I sat and watched them and read a whole book! It
was great. I don't often take the time to read when I'm at home, but a friend
had recommended the book, Heaven is for Real, and it was remarkable. If you
haven't read it, you should!
Dorian was playing with a soccer ball at my parent's house
one afternoon and Levi thought that looked like fun. So mom took him to the
garage and found him a volleyball that he could kick around. It was fine for a
while, but then Levi said that he "wanted the ball with hexagons on
it." :) That's my boy! What a smart kid!!!
Many mornings when Nathan leaves for work the boys request
some kind of an animal hug from him. It's just a cute thing that they do that I
want to look back at and remember. :) It's been a phase that they've been in
for quite a while now and I have no idea how it got started. Yesterday it was a
kangaroo hug and a tiger hug. :)
We have had Nathan's summer research students over at our
house a couple of times now for supper. Last week while they were here we
played the boys' games: Perfection, Fishing game, horseshoes and Gobblet Jr. It
was a risky proposal but it turned out to be a blast! :) Tonight they played
pool and some Wii games.
The boys are participating in the Summer Reading Program at
the library. Instead of keeping track of minutes, we have a sheet with
different activities to do with the boys like reading a book and then drawing a
picture of something from the story. We did that one this morning. :) We've
been to the library many times already in the month of June, including today
which was Storytime for 4 and 5 year olds.
Nathan went tent camping for one night with the boys and a
friend and his 2 boys a couple of weeks ago. It went well and they all had fun.
I enjoyed some time to myself. Scrapbooking. Walks with Molly. Snapfish order.
We all went to Sandy Hollow to a Fishing Clinic last night.
It was a free family event so I thought that it would be fun to check out. I
was allowing my dear husband to bait the hooks but then decided that I'm sure I
could do it too. I know I'd done it before. Well, I did bait hooks with live
worms, but I can't say that I enjoyed any part of it. Just proud of myself for
doing it. :)
It's been a busy month so far, but a lot of fun. I love
summer!
So glad you are back to blogging! I've missed reading about all of your fun adventures and now I feel "caught up" on all that missed time :)
