February 2-4
The snow started coming down in the morning, and by mid morning we were stranded. School was cancelled, the plows weren't out and most businesses were closed...including the medical clinic! I was bummed for a few reasons that Nathan was gone from January 31 to February 4: one being that he missed out on the blizzard experience. This is how I remember snowstorms when I was growing up!
This was the view out of our front window in the afternoon.
I thought it was pretty funny that we even had a drift inside of our garage!
Thankfully by the next day the high wind had stopped and the sun was shining! School was cancelled for another day to give everyone time to plow themselves out!
The boys bedroom windows were nearly covered in snow!
We had fun going outside to see all of the drifts on our yard.
Our biggest drift was over Dorian and Levi's head on the south side of our house.
After shoveling the sidewalk, I knew that I couldn't do the rest of the driveway on my own with only our shovel and no help from Nathan.
Mason found a cement patch and took out the sidewalk chalk! :)
Thankfully our neighbor showed up in the afternoon to help out! What a blessing!!!
We made homemade ice cream with snow from outside and the boys loved it!
Mr. Rens was able to make a huge pile that was great for sledding!
Levi surprised us by making hot chocolate for us to warm up! How sweet!
After 2 snow days, the boys were ready to head back to school the next day (and I was ready for them to head to school as well) :).
It was a day that I was babysitting and Adria and Mason were enjoying hot chocolate for a snack.
And then I fed 6 kids for supper!
That night 10 minutes before Nathan got home Dorian got the stomach flu. Needless to say I was ready to have him home after a crazy week!
