January 2016

Dorian and Levi had a lot of fun making Domino creations!
It was our first time to check out the tubing hill at Inspiration Hills.  It was a popular place to be on a nice Saturday afternoon before Christmas break came to a close.

The ride down was exciting but the rope pull back up was just as exciting!

Nice Domino tower, Levi!
A precious memory of Mason and Dorian telling secrets, tickling and laughing together.

Ted Cruz came to Dordt for a visit so Nathan took Dorian and Levi.  They've since become more interested in politics.  :)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Grandpa and Grandma Tintle!  It was fun to have a party and open presents with them at our house!

Each of them got a new book to read, a new shirt to wear, and a toy to play with!

Mrs. Hite even sent along a gift for the boys.  :)

The boys couldn't wait to play Mario Kart with Grandpa!
Levi was very proud of his spaceship after it was assembled!

How adorable to watch Mason paint!  He was having a lot of fun and made many pictures.  :)

I took the boys and Jaden to the sledding hill at their school.  I was a little surprised that Mason wanted to go down on his own, but I'm glad that he did!  It was adorable!

The boys did well while we were away on our trip to California.  When we got back it was cute to see that Levi had written about it at school.  :)  "My mom and dad went to California and this is what they saw: A whale and elephant seal."
I've been having fun with my new gel pens and coloring pages, but I think the boys like it just as much!

Nathan was honored for the publication of his textbook, Introduction to Statistical Investigations!

I met a few friends to see Donald Trump, since he was going to be speaking at Dordt!  The doors opened at 9:00 and when I got there at 9:00, there were about 1500 people in line waiting outside in the freezing cold and windy weather.  I didn't think it would take an hour and 15 minutes to get in the door!  Security was really tight and we needed our bags checked and to go through a metal detector similar to the ones at airports!

We found seats in the balcony.

Janey wanted either to get an autograph or a picture with him so I followed her down to the front when he was finished with his speech.
We pulled off getting 2 autographs...one for each of us.  Hey, maybe it will be fun to have if he becomes president.
News crews were everywhere!
He still doesn't have my vote, but it was quite an experience so I'm glad that I went.  Now I, along with Dorian and Levi, am more interested in politics this year as well.
Mason had some one on one time with Nathan last week Sunday.  They went sledding at the school hill together.  Mason found a stick there and was poking around for piggies.  It didn't really make sense to us until we were going to read him a book and realized that he has a Curious George story where a pig gets stuck in the snow!

It's really nice when  my Mom gets first dibs on what comes in to her store.  When she asked if we wanted a drum set, we decided to go for it!  It was pretty noisy downstairs yesterday after we set it up...but the boys sure love it!
Dorian and I went to the Dordt game room on Friday night.  Jeb Bush happened to be speaking there right when we arrived so we listened for a little while!

Dorian was interested in seeing him speak since there was a chance that he'd be president some day, but at his age he had more fun in the game room!  We played many rounds of air hockey and Foosball.

Levi and Nathan had their night out last night.  Levi came home super excited and had to show me the super sour candy that he got.  :)

Nathan left this morning for a trip out East for work and to visit some family.  We enjoyed a little time outside this afternoon making snowmen!  We'll take 35 degrees in January.
Mason loves to ride on his bike.

All 3 boys have had a cold over the last couple of weeks.  I'm not complaining because this is the first time for the winter that anyone in our family has been sick!  Amazing!  Mason however, was the most sick and still has a fever and a cough.  Bracing myself for possible sick days, snow days (we are now under a blizzard warning), and single parenting while Nathan is gone until Thursday night!
