August 2020

South Dakota
Nathan was feeling like it was time for a road trip and to see some new scenery.  Our first stop was in Chamberlain to fish and eat lunch by the Missouri River.
Then the boys hiked in the Fort Pierre National Grasslands.

It was a beautiful spot but loaded with grasshoppers!

Sandy Hollow
Dorian bought a new tackle box and fish scale with some of his mowing money from this summer.  Thankfully Levi caught a big fish so he could try it out!

Vacation to the cabin
August 12-18
Levi likes kayaking on the big waves when it's windy.
The boys worked hard to fix our broken hoist!
Looks quite relaxing!
I love it that Nathan keeps finding new things for us to explore (Elinor Bedell State Park).

Getting in a round of golf was pretty high on the boys' list of things to do for the week.
It was fun to take the kites to the beach. We lost them all....and they were all rescued.
Happy Birthday, Nathan!
There was a Trump boat parade that went around Spirit Lake.

The boys all love tubing and Zup boarding!

I took Dorian with me to Sioux Falls to get him some stuff for school and we enjoyed a stop to ride the go karts!
Family bike ride!

Our adventure to kayak down the Little Sioux River didn't go as planned after getting hit by huge bighead carp jumping out of the water.  It was a beautiful spot, but we left and made a stop at Bouncelandia instead.

The boys have been into playing hearts and it was super fun to play on the boat.
So peaceful to read on the boat.
The lake was calm and we were nearly the only ones out!  Each of us took turns on the Zup board!

Now that's creative, Levi!  Fishing from the hammock.

More FISHING
Dorian showed us where he and Brady were catching river chub.

The boys went with friends to fish at Deer Creek State Park.

It was the day before school started so we picked up donuts to soak up the last day of summer vacation and head to Sandy Hollow.

Home
There is nothing more beautiful than finding your sons Bible open on his pillow in the morning.
Impressive card pyramid, Dorian!

Back to School
We have immensely enjoyed having the boys home since March and it was really hard to think about sending them back to school.  But the time had come.
Mason is heading to 2nd grade with Mrs. VandeKamp!  Levi has Mrs. Veldhuisen.  And Dorian has Mr. Barrow.
Masks are being required on the bus but not at school.
First day of school!  8th, 6th and 2nd grades!
Dorian loves to bike to school with Jaden.
Levi and Mason like to ride to school with me.
Chapel was outside this year!
Mason made the newspaper!
Congrats Wyatt & Breanna!
We had fun driving to Wisconsin for Breanna's wedding.
The boys were great guest book attendants.

It was a gorgeous day for an outdoor wedding in the country!
