But it was remarkable how many bears there were! It was fun to ride right next to them.
And by the end of our drive through Bear Country we had a little bear of our own! He played his role as a bear the whole time that we walked around to see the baby animals at Bear Country.
After eating our picnic lunch, some of us decided to go on to Reptile Gardens. Levi stole a ride in Caden's stroller. :)
We watched a bird show.
We watched an alligator show and the boys even got to pet a baby alligator!
We pet giant tortoises. (My personal favorite.)
And we really enjoyed the indoor exibit, where there was air conditioning!!!
We also saw a snake show and ate ice cream to cool off.
Then we were off to the Lodge to cool off and swim before supper. We took turns making supper in the evenings and always ate all together.
After a last minute change in plans, Nathan, Dorian, Dad, Kerry and Brian left to hike up Harney Peak before it got too dark. The rest of us hung out at the Lodge playing games and getting the kids to bed.
The hikers had a great time!
The view was spectacular (I hear). And there happened to be quite a large forest fire in the distance that was quite scary to Dorian, even though they were very safe.
There are my hikers! :) This was Dorian's first big hike. Harney Peak: Elevation 7,200 ft.
Another very blessed day of health, safety and good memories!
