Camping at Cutty's Resort.
After mom and dad bought a new camper, Nathan and I were figuring out a time that we could use it and as it turned out there were very few times that it worked in our very busy summer schedule. But we found an opening from July 5 to 8 and I'm super glad that we did, because it was a lot of fun!
Mom and I braved taking the camper by ourselves on Thursday and getting it set up without the guys. The boys could not hardly wait to get over to play miniature golf. We whipped through 18 holes so fast because their level of enthusiasm was so high! They also found the tire swings!
On Friday morning we played another round of miniature golf. This time Dorian wanted to play the real way and keep track of the score with Grandma and I followed Levi. Again, they both had a BLAST. Can't believe how much they love miniature golf. Then we went to the lodge where they were making paper bag puppets for craft time.
The boys don't usually choose to sit and color very often, but they were both into making their puppets! We also swam in the indoor pool for a long time.
Dad and Nathan arrived in time to eat supper with us. Then the boys needed to get in a round of miniature golf again. And we went to Arnold's Park for Nutty Bars!
Saturday was our boating day! I love boating!
After the sun came out, I was thinking about skiing, and then mom asked if we were up for it. I was excited to try it again since it had been quite a few years since I've done it. Turns out that once you've learned how, it doesn't matter that you're not practiced up. :) Skiing was fun, but the following week that I was sore wasn't quite as much fun. :)
Nathan was determined to learn and it was very ironic that after trying about 20 times, I took my camera out and caught on film his best attempt at skiing. That man has determination!
On Saturday evening, Nathan and I went out together for our anniversary while mom and dad stayed back at the campground with the boys. We were having such a hard time knowing where to go since we'd gotten so many recommendations that we decided to have an appetizer at a new Italian restaurant and our meal at a restaurant that was overlooking the lake called Bracco. I know it sounds crazy, but we both said that it felt like we were in Hawaii. Loved the ambiance! Loved the food! And then we went to Arnold's Park to eat Nutty Bars for dessert even though we were not hungry at all at that point, and watched the sun set over the water.
Another great afternoon for a boat ride!
Levi thought that boat rides were a great place for napping! How sweet!
